Discovering Beauty and Joy
Monday 3 August 2026
Beauty and joy can, and should, be found in the mundane and ordinary. Take, for example, cleaning or ironing. These tasks should not frustrate you nor cause you angst. Instead look for the positives therein; it is an opportunity to be productive, to transform the state of the object being cleaned etc. Take it also as an opportunity to be doubly-productive: listen to a podcast, or an audiobook whilst carrying out the activity so you can experience double the joy and beauty from the task.
Remember always, you are in the present undertaking this task: make the most of it and do not wish the moment away. You may not have many 'presents' remaining.
